Cubs game

Yesterday, I went to a cubs game. In the afternoon, I got a call from my roomate who got two tickets from one of his coworkers. He asked if I would care to go. I told him that attending would mean missing Big Brother. But I decided that I could go a night without the TV God.

We had some amazing seats behind the plate. There was still another row ahead of us, but we were centrally located among the seating. Wrigley Field has this more home team atmosphere the way it is built. I suppose this is how the new Cardinals Stadium will be built, with closer but less seating. I wore my black cardinals hat and mustered a laugh each time the Cubs bumbled the ball. But in the end, the cubs won their game and the cards lost theirs.

Play Ball!

I have another picture of me with my nacho tray, but I think I may purchase that usb/phone link after all.

Whoa!

Hurricane Katrina

Ipod Subwaymaps

Though I dont own an ipod, and I’m always curious to see people hack into them, I could probably see myself getting one in the future. The latest ipods have color screens and photo viewing capabilities. There is also a rumor that the new models (slated for September) will have video capabilities. So, you could either download movies or create your own. Well, I digress…

This is a handy idea I came across, iPod Subway Maps. It would be useful if visiting new cities or getting lost in Chicago.

Day Fifteen: =[

Well, I was hoping to give more updates on my hyssop plant. However, I have nothing to report. I suppose Mom was right and the seeds must have gone bad over the 2 year hiatus. I’ve given it regular water, front row seating next to the window, and nothing has sprouted.

I do have a lot of left over seeds, so I’ll dump them all in and see if anything grows. Perhaps I’ll find a diamond in the rough left in the package. On a positive note, when I moved up here, none of my bamboo stalks died in the process. I’ll change the water today for it being so good.

The Mystery Cat

One of perks of being an alumni of a fraternity is reaping the benefits without the hassles. Wednesday, the Delts had a steak dinner and boat cruise for their fall rush to gain new members. Normally the event draws in a lot of people and is a little hectic to throw together. I just showed up, had me some tender steak, and hopped on the boat.

I took a few pictures of the skyline, but none of them showed up well. This is actually the Hancock building. During the summer, Chicago has weekly fireworks on Wed and Sat. So, we got to watch that on the open lake.

Chicago Skyline

For the past 2 Sundays my neighbor downstairs and I have been hanging out. We get breakfast at this greasy diner a couple blocks down and chill. He has an eccentric cat and here it is after it settled down. I wanted to sit his laptop on the cat, because the moment reminded me of this site. Stuff on my Cat But, I dont think he would have enjoyed that.

Pete's Cat

It’s name is “Kitty.” How original.
