Guts & Glory

During the day I usually listen to NPR or watch PBS and the news. Many of these times, they recommend a book that sounds interesting to read. So, I’ll walk to my desk and write down the title or auther. Well, this Monday, I went to the library, but forgot the sheet that had all my recommendations on it.

So, instead of leaving empty handed, I went to the Wall Street/Financial section. I could hardly find a book on bonsai or tattoos, but there were thousands of books on Wall Street. Rummaging through the masses, I picked up this one called “The Guts & Glory of Day Trading” – True Stories of Day Traders Who Made (or Lost) $1,000,000 by Mark Ingebretsen. It sounded interesting enough.

I’m only two chapters into it, but I am enjoying it. Like the title says, it focuses on stories rather that micromanaging the particular strategies of the trader. But, it gives a brief concept of how they focused on the market. It doesn’t delve into big money lifestyles. Each chapter appears to be dedicated to one individual, and it talks about their background and how started out day trading.
