The Elusive T-shirt

They’re finally here!!!
Last night, I left my computer on while it was downloading a file for me. I woke up this morning to find this message.
Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
So, I looked up the problem from the programs website. One person’s experience said that the error was from a hard drive failure. Lord have mercy on me! I just lost a hard drive last summer. I tried a couple of fixes, and ran the Windows error check and recovery. That seemed to have taken care of the problem, because my file is downloading again. To be on the safe side, I’m gonna back up some important data on my DVD-RWs, today.
I’ve been planning to buy a new computer some time this year. But, since I just bought a new bike I wanted to spread out any large purchases. Maybe it’s unavoidable. This little 600MHz CPU and 224Mb of ram just isn’t cutting it these days. A typical computer, today, runs X5 faster than my computer.
*sigh*
Well, I purchased a bike today, the Trek 4400 Hardtail.
Previously, I thought about just going to Sportsmart and picking up a Mongoose. I know squat about bikes, and I just wanted something to ride around on. However, something just seemed off about all the bikes I looked at. I tightened the seat, and it would swiveled. They had full suspension, but the shocks didn’t seem very stiff. Maybe I was getting what I would have payed for, because some bikes were discounted $300. So, I decided I should do this right and seek out some pros.
I found the Village Cycle Center through the interweb. They had a wide list of bikes and winter discounts going on. The people were friendly, explained the models, and told me what size would fit me best. I told them what I was willing to pay, and they showed me some different models. I picked a bike, and they fixed it up for me in an hour. I also bought a U-lock, and the shop came with some free tune-ups throughout the year.
My first test ride was taking it home from the North side. I took it down Lake Michigan and through 6′o clock traffic. (I’m gonna have to get used to that) It felt smooth and sturdy. I should have looked into the specific bike more thoroughly and checked reviews on it. But, it looks like it’s gained respect among it’s owners. I’ll have to sit tomorrow out, because this one trip has whipped my sorry butt. Albeit, I look forward to riding it some more.

Claire reminded me about the Nature’s Burgers which she had. It comes in a mix, and can be fried into a “hamburger” patty. CJ told me about a cereal called Amaranth and some legume bread called Ezekiel 4:9. If I swing by Whole Foods tomorrow, I’ll keep an eye out for them.
Anywho, I’m gonna go to another Fidelity seminar tomorrow, and walk around downtown. I also spotted a bicycle shop online that I’d like to peruse. I might even walk out with a new bike. They have some winter deals going on right now, and I’d like to get in while the gett’n is good.
For Christmas, Mom gave me this SBC credit/gift card. It works just like a credit card that can be spent anywhere, except that it expires. (Lame SBC…lame). I couldn’t think of any needed personal items to buy, so I decided that I should make an attempt to try some different foods at the Whole Foods store. I knew I wanted some natural peanut butter and I wanted to get back on the cereal bandwagon. I had stopped drinking cow milk, because it always made me mucousy and I dont think liquid milk is as good as claimed.
I first did a walk-through of the store to see what was available. It was awkward, because I really wasn’t looking for anything particular. I just stared at items and tried to picture foods that I’d enjoy. I think many of the employees thought that I was lost or something.
I settled on some natural valencia peanut putter, and an organic cereal. It was like “Nut’s and Honey”, and very scrumptuous. The box was small, so I limited myself to one serving per day. I had also bought Rice Milk to wash it down. All the organic fruits here were a tad expensive, so I just bought some bananas. I settled on a block of Australian White Cheddar cheese and I bought a sampler pack of crackers. Also on the list were, lime corn chips, natural honey, whole wheat macaronni, and I couldn’t pass up some beer. I got a 6-pack of Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout brewed in CA. It was on the bottom of the shelf and all the bottles had dust on them, and I think that’s what attracted me to it. I wanted to taste what others were passing up. It’s not as smooth as Guinness and has a hoppy flavor.
I haven’t tried all the stuff yet, and I still have some money on the card. So, I’ll probably be back for more cheese and crackers, which I downed quickly. Got any other suggestions?
