Ok, my first mini goal was last year. It encompassed eating massive amounts of chocolate for a material possession. (You may remember it.)
For my second mini goal, I will rasterbate!
First off, the word isn’t naughty. It’s a form of tiled printing. To see what I mean, check out homokaasu.org/rasterbator. They have a program that allows users to upload any image and tile it to a printable file. So, you print out 30 or so sheets of paper, align them in order, and you get an image. Some people get this done at Kinkos and even get them laminated for super quality.
My office is set up in this blank corner of the apartment, and I’ve been meaning to put up something. The image I’ll be attempting is ~60 pages, and I dont have a printer. Luckily, the Chicago Public Library does. They allow visitors to print upto 10 pages of free documents per day. Unfortuntely, I dont go downtown very often, so this project could take some time. But, it will happen, and I might even keep you updated on the progress.
Here’s what the finished project should look like. It’s a music video screenshot for Queens of the Stone Age.
I started my day with a bike ride to the lake. The weather has been warm and off/on rainy and sunny. I think I got a little sunburned the last time I was out. But a little tan wont do me no harm. I got back and ate some hard boiled eggs that I got from the Whole Foods store. I also picked up some more cereal, rice milk, and other necessities while I was there.
I still haven’t received my congratulatory message from Conan that I won tickets but I wait with bated breath. Maybe he’s just going to surprise me by pulling up in his limo and personally handing them to me. That would be most excellent. And speaking of most excellent, Survivor and the Amazing Race are still filling in my weekdays. Too bad Sally got the boot last week. Besides Terry or Bruce, none of those people deserve to win. And now I’m just rambling.
TTFN and Happy Easter! May your chocolate bunnies be milky and sweet.
Last night, my fraternity had one of our annual get togethers called Rainbow. It’s where the seniors throw a formal for the members. This year it was held at Rock Bottom brewery in Chicago. The class paid for everything including everyone’s meal. (How could I pass that up, right?)
My neighbor and I were first to show up. We had an entire banquet hall to ourselves. We got to talking to the bartendar. He asked if we knew anything about their beers, since they brew their own. We were talking about the stout, and he offered to give me some samples of the beer. First, he gave me a “Brown Bear”. I cant quite remember the taste, but I didn’t like it. It was a brown ale, and I thought I’d like it because Goose Island makes a good nutty brown ale. He, then, gave me the “Fire Chief.” It was a seasonal brew that they make for the local fire stations. It had some good spices and a sweet after taste. The third taster was this “Erik the Red” beer. It was a little hoppy, but still ok. Overall, I think I liked the “Fire Chief” the best. None of them WOWed me. By the end of the night I was taking the walk downstairs to get the “Imperial Stout.” I forget the reason why, but they couldn’t get any stouts to the second floor, something to do with the tanks and pressure. (I think) Anyways, it was worth the trip. It was almost similar to Guinness.
The meal was delectable. I guess I’m not cultured enough, but I thought prime rib was the same as pork ribs. Instead, it was this juicy slap of beef with french dip sauce. I’d give it an ‘A’. The entire plate was good, but I heard on the “dl” that dessert would be cheesecake. So, I didn’t pig out on my mashed potatoes and green beans. (snort snort) Unfortunately, it was brownies and carrotcake with cherry dribble. Meh. I would have rather finished my potatoes and greens.
Overall, it was good time. I also meangle with old friends and blibbity blah blah blah…
