Today, I was going to pay my Verizon phone bill. I have the cheapest plan ($40.00 w/ no extra features) and a 2 year agreement. It costs $.10 to send and receive txt messages and $.25 for picture messages. With the government fees and Verizon charges, my typical bill is $50, and that’s what I’ve come to expect. However, as I skimmed over my recent bill there was trouble in little big town.
This months statement read $56 and that was not right. I looked over the plan and saw a new feature which I didn’t add. It was “250 MSG Camera $5″. It means that for $5 extra dollers, I can send 250 picture messages. There was a partial charge of $2.10 for 9/01 - 9/13 and a $5.00 for 9/14 - 10/13. I went online to check my statement and it was on there too. Through the website, I removed the feature, but that still didn’t sit right with me. I wasn’t sure if they had changed theirs/my plan.
Could I still send pictures for $.25 or would it automatically trigger this $5.00 fee? Could I get this $5.00 back or was I stuck with it? If I was stuck with it, you’d be damn sure I was going to take 250 pictures and send them up to this 10/13 expiration date.
After listening to the automated teller, I was connected with a service representative. They told me my plan had remained the same, and “I” must have added the $5 messaging feature. I told them no, and I dont know why it showed up. They confirmed to me that the feature was removed, but I still wanted my $5.00 back that they were going to charge me. The rep said they’d credit the money back to me on the next bill and I’m content with that. So, everything should be back to normal.
Overall, I’ve been content with Verizon for this past year and the LG phone I have. I’ve never had a problem with their service or the phone, and reliability is my #1 concern. They sent me a check back for the ridiculous down payment I had to front. However, $40 is still pretty steep for the basic needs I have with my phone. Once this contract is over, I’m going to research other providers for a less expensive plan.

I have a lot of old $.33 stamps, and I’ve had to buy a lot of $.02 stamps to make up the difference for todays rate of $.39. I always thought my letters looked funny with 1x$.33 and 3x$.02s, but one of my landlords letters looked like this.

I wonder why the sender didn’t use all $.03s, $.02s, or $.01. It seems like they wanted to use a combination of all of them. Maybe they wanted to balance out their stockpile of stamps, but it’s almost as if they intentionally placed them in this pattern to be artsy. Perphaps there is no message in the letter, but the stamp arrangement itself is a secret coded message.

Finished the Great Gatsby. But, I wont write a summary, because Clear Mentioned it was on her list. I sat in bed for awhile thinking about the events and read some reviews. It took me awhile to see its greatness, and why it could have been considered “banned.” Previously, I had read it in 6th or 7th Grade and had a rough idea of the story.
I may have lost DFA79, but I found a new band, “Cansei de Ser Sexy.” They’re a Brazilian group whose name means “I’m Tired of Being Sexy.” I was drawn to them by their first single “Let’s Make Love and Listen Death From Above.” I watched the music video and was captivated by the cute singer. I may go to their Chicago concert.
Started taking vitamins. Breakfast is probably the only healthy meal I eat, and I’m sure I dont get enough fruits and vegetables. They are like the “Men’s One-a-Day”, but the economy brand. It had the exact same mineral percentages. I also want to build up my immune system with Vitamin C for the upcoming winter. I’ll be impervious to colds.
Ordered an iPod Nano! I haven’t seen any negative reviews yet. So, I decided it was time. I of course went for the 8GB. It wont fit all my tunes, but I should be able to fit all of the necessities.

Today, I was checking the wikipedia entry on Death From Above 1979, a Canadian Rock Phenom, and it said that they were now defunct. I checked the offical page, and sure enough one of the members confirmed that they were no more. =[ Here’s how the obsession started:
Last year, I ordered 4 CDs online. Through no fault of the company, I ordered an unavailable CD, which delayed the shipment. After a month, they notified me to say that the CD still wasn’t in. So, I told them to cancel the unavailable CD and replace it with DFA79. I had never heard any of their songs, but people were raving about them online. All together, I received the 4 CDs and surprisingly the DFA79 album was my favorite. Quite the diamond in the rough.
They only recorded one full LP, but they had a couple hard to find EP’s and rarities. I’ve since scoured the internet trying to find these. Now, I’m gonna have to cherish all of the songs, b-sides, and live sets I have. One of the members, Jesse Keeler, has a side project called Femme Fatale which is equally good, but not as great. He’s also rumoured to be working with Josh Hommes on the new QOTSA album. But, still, this is a sad day.
We can still watch them on Conan O’ Brien with Max on drums.
