The Apartment Series (part 2)

  1. The kitchen. You know…oven, sink, cabinets.
  2. Kitchen table. My roomy got it from his Grandma’s house. It is stained this odd greenish color, but he loves it. The clock on the wall is stupid. The numbers are scattered on the bottom and it says “Whatever” above it. “Whatever” is what I want to yell when I drop kick it out the door.
  3. Fridge. Trash. Door leading to my room. I think I’d rather buy a new trash can than clean this one out.
  4. Looking South through the open apartment.
  5. My chilly room and where I rest my head every night.

  1. Fern
  2. Nois Leafus
  3. Somewhatus Pleasanticus
  4. Spiderous tentaculus
  5. Hodgeous Podgeous. I think this plant has some ‘lucky bamboo’ in it. They had these long curves from stretching for the sun. I cut one of them shorter and am hoping for it to grow roots. The other one, I’m trying to bend back into shape.

Happy Festivus!

The Apartment Series (part 1)

  1. Front of the apartment. Do you like the Halloween decorations?
  2. Street. Many neighbors couldn’t parallel park to save their life.
  3. Back. The bushes used to be shoulder level, but our landlord wasn’t happy with them. He had this idea to hack them smaller, which I took care of. We also put some bricks and wood chips around them. (I hope they grow back…)
  4. 2 car garage
  5. Back alley. Many times bums and scavengers will rummage through the trash and not pick up the crap they throw around. Dog owners will also walk their dogs and let them poop in the middle of the alley. Honestly, people! Take some paper with you and pick up your dogs crap. The dumpster is right there. This is why cities have rodent problems.

  1. Steps leading up to shoes and coat rack
  2. Living Room. My office and nook.
  3. My windows to the outside world.
  4. We like to rock the 15″ and thousand dollar stereo.
  5. Bookcase and couch. The living room used to face the other direction, but I moved the couches after October. Depending if I’m watching shows on the computer or playing games, I’ll move the smaller couch around to change direction.

How to occupy the Holidays?

Besides my initial gripes about the holidays season, there is something else that really erks me about the upcoming days. Specifically, there is absolutely NOTHING to do.

All of my TV shows have wrapped up. Survivor, Dexter, Amazing Race, ANTM, The Office, and My Name is Earl have all come to a close. And now, there is nothing to look forward to on a weekly time schedule. I’ve seen FOX running spots for American Idol, and I see that it doesn’t start for another month. Good grief. They hype the crap out of that show. I would watch Christmas specials, but oh wait,…they’ve already been showing these for the last 3 weeks. *sigh* I guess there is always Peter Bailey to look forward to.

When I go home, I wont have the internet, but even it goes on an extended hiatus. People are taking time off from their regular podcasts and videos programs until at least the new year. Even the news goes stale. If you follow news sites like Digg, you’ll notice there are a lot less quality articles over the weekend than the weekday. This is due to everyone taking the time off. Well, for the holidays, two days turns into two weeks.

To fill the lapse, I suppose I’ll be turning my attention towards video games. On my modded XBox, I have at least 15 games, which I’ve never played and I just picked up Lego Star Wars II and Farcry. (BTW, Lego Star Wars = Awesome!) I’m also downloading a Gameboy Advance Emulator for the XBox. There should be a crap ton of game roms to fill the time. It’s a large download, so I hope it doesn’t let me down.

Tomorrow, Thur, I’ll be taking the “slow train from Philly” all the way home. And Ceej guessed it, I’ll be dusting off Super Mario World and Shining Force II. I should really work on a PS2 mod and leave that at home. I could put a bunch of games and emulators on that. Hmmm…? In case you’re wondering, I need to make a quick stop by the library today. I plan on picking out at least one tasty book, but I dont have anything in mind…but maybe Isaac Asimov.

Well, I should really get errands done today. Post in the next 24 hours, if you have anything to add.

Green Green and the Tiger Paw

I ventured to Chinatown to pick up some Green Green. One 35mL bottle was only 75ยข, but I wish I had a camera on me at the time. I wanted to take a picture of the wall of ‘lucky bamboo.’ It was humbling to be in the presence of so many sizes and varieties of healthy looking ‘lucky’. I’m pretty sure this is where my ‘lucky’ came from. I looked deep into many of the dishes to see how much water or what techniques they were using, but I didn’t learn much. None of them were using fertilizer, just water. A couple dishes were even dry. What gives? I’ll have to go back sometime when it’s not busy and try to pick the owner’s brains.

I meandered around the rest of the store. The shops are like a Goodwill/thrift store. You never know what cool things you’re going to find. I surveyed the plant dishes and vases, but nothing caught my eye. I went to the back and found some sandals. I thought, “I could really use some sandals come summertime,” but I moved on instead. Then, I saw them. The most sweet pair of kicks. They looked just like the oldskool low cut Converse, but they were “Tiger Paw’s”. I checked out the price, and they were only $5.99. Hell Yes. I had to dig deep in the pile to find some 10.5’s, since the majority of the shoes were 6-9. Silly Asians and their tiny feet.

So, I made my way back home and fed the ‘lucky’. I gave it a few extra drops of Green Green to get it back on track. I’m also wearing the kicks around the apartment to get them broken in.
