Mossy Geo’

geo

Here’s my moss plant Geochadon. The bottle terrarium has been working well over these colder days. I’ve been keeping him in my kitchen, which doesn’t have heated floors. So, it’s a few degrees warmer than the weather outside. I’ve kept him on top of my fridge, which is next to a halogen light and the window.

The traps aren’t as large as they were over the summer, but they are still working if triggered. Though, he hasn’t had a snack in months. I’m sure the health of the moss and the soil quality will help Geochadon through the winter.

Is the moss part of Geochadon?

Venus flytraps are best grown in mixtures of sphagnum peat moss and/or peat often with the addition of sand, perlite or other inert salt free material.

When I first got Geo, the moss was short and fuzzy. Then, a white fungus started killing off the moss. That’s when I moved Geo to the top of the fridge. The moss overcame the fungus and it has now been growing like tall grass.
