I saw this article on Wisebread - “Emergency food supplies for the lazy skinflint“. Costco is selling a 23lb bucket of emergency food supplies.
This is not a bucket in the KFC sense of the word. No, this is a 23lb monster called “Emergency Food Supply,” and it contains 275 servings in one container. And even better, it’s got a 20 year shelf life and is good for vegetarians, too.
Here’s the menu:
* 30 Servings - Potato Ba-kon
* 25 Servings - Corn Chowder
* 25 Servings - Ala King
* 25 Servings - Cacciatore
* 25 Servings - Western Stew
* 45 Servings - Whey Milk
* 25 Servings - Blueberry Pancakes
* 25 Servings - Barley Vegetable
Wisebread went ahead and did the math. This bucket would last a family of four about a month to get through. I wonder what it would be like if one person tried to eat this on their own? At $80, it’s kind of a bargain. Morgan Spurlock went on a 30 day all McDonald’s binge. I think someone should do the same for this monster. It would definitely be worthy of an indie documentary or proactive blogging journal.
I think I’d like to try some of the food contents in the bucket, but I dont know if I’d be up to my own challenge…
…maybe.
